Miller & Buckwalter Claim Speedster Wins and TJ Henry Street Stock Win on Wildcard Weekend Season Finale at Bridgeport Motorsports

The Speedsters and Street Stocks put the finishing touches on their 2020 season on day 3 of the Wildcard Weekend at Bridgeport Motorsport Park. 

The Street Stock 25 lap feature saw Rich Stinson lead the 12 car field early for 3 laps then Lee Allen moved into the lead position until lap 8 when TJ Henry made his move and checked out on the field.  TJ Henry drove the 57H into victory lane with a 4 second margin of victory over 2nd place Lee Allen.

In victory lane TJ Henry stated “We were running the bottom all night and no one else was down there.  The bottom in 3-4 is just amazing and the middle came in on 1-2.  This thing is a hoss and able to clear everything I need to clear.”

Back in tech Lee Allen noted “TJ was fast tonight.  I finished in 2nd but that’s alright we diced it up with the 57 and 27 and had a lot fun.”

The top 5 was rounded out by Lee Allen, Mike Hughes, Jeramy Doerr and John Parker.

TJ Henry picked up his 6th win in 9 starts at Bridgeport this year.  Henry is 3rd on the all-time Bridgeport street stock win list with 26 career street stock wins at Bridgeport.

Lee Allen’s 2nd place finish tonight brings his season total to five 2nd place finishes; one 3rd place finish; three 4th; and one 6th place finish.  He also added his first win of the season on Friday night with a .029 margin of victory over Rich Stinson.

Andrew Joslin got in his 57 car for the first time this season.  Tom Willis Sr. is the usual driver but tonight he was out of town and Joslin returned to the seat of the 57.  Joslin got an 8th place finish in his first outing of the season.

Speedsters Make-up Feature (20 Laps)

Kenny Miller took the lead from green to checkered flag and picked up his first Speedster win of the year.

In victory lane Kenny Miller III commented “We had bad luck with our speedster all year.  I’m happy to be here.  The hardest part of running up front all day is you don’t know where anyone is.  Track is always tricky here as the track changes quickly at Bridgeport.”

The top 5 was rounded out by Louden Reimert, Jared Sifee, Briggs Danner and Ryan Godown.

Speedster Regular Feature (20 laps)

Steve Buckwalter was scheduled to start in 4th position on the starting grid but the entire front row did not make the call which moved Buckwalter to the outside pole.  Buckwalter also took the lead from green to checkered flag on this feature but this time Ryan Godown Jr was a close second.

The top 5 was rounded out by Ryan Godown, Steve Drevicki, Jeff Hartman and Loudon Reimert.

Speedster Pit Notes

The top 3 composite finishes in both features were:

Steve Buckwalter with a 6th and 1st

Ryan Godown with a 5th and 2nd

Louden Reimert with a 2nd and a 5th

Jared Sifee and Steve Drevicki were going for the double top 5 finishes in both features only to have late contact with the wall take them out of contention and the top 5 in one feature.

22 speedsters were on the grounds and only 17 made the call for each feature.
