Bridgeport Speedway held their first Street Stock Nationals 100 lap feature with $10,000 to win for the street stock division. The event attracted street stocks from IN, CT, VT, NY and from across DE, PA & NJ.
New Jersey’s Jimmy Blewett took the lead on lap 45 and held off Jason Geesaman for the final 55 laps to take the trip to the $10,000 Street Stock victory lane.

Bridgeport regular Jeremy Doerr led the first 25 laps but motor woes retired him to the pits in a plume of smoke on lap 32. Mike Walls moved into the lead until he had to go to the pits for a flat tire relinquishing the lead to Jason Geesaman. Geesaman lead for 10 laps but couldn’t hold off a charging Jimmy Blewett who moved into the lead on 45. Blewett held off Geesaman for the next 55 laps as he took the checkered flag with Geesaman trailing in second by .64 at the finished line.

In victory lane Jimmy Blewett noted “There was no cherry picking out here tonight. All these guys out here where ever they come from are real racers. They were breathing down my neck and I was driving this thing for all it was worth just to stay out in front of them.”
Back in Tech 2nd place Jason Geesaman stated “I tried the middle and bottom but the top is definitely the preferred place to be. I got underneath Jimmy a couple of times but couldn’t get it to stick and tried to race him as clean as possible. We tangled with a lapped car on lap 96 and lost our brakes for the last 4 laps. This is a real scary place with no brakes.”
The heat races were won by Jeremy Doerr, Jimmy Blewett and Mike Walls. The last chance consolation was won by Chris Murray.
