With most junior formula series off this weekend, the schedule for this weekend is very sparse, with the Road to Indy at Worldwide Technology Raceway, and F4 Japan at Suzuka. The schedule and links are below.
Road to Indy – Indy Pro 2000 go to their second and last oval, while Indy Lights makes their only oval start of the year. The Road to Indy returns to the 1.25 mile oval, with last year’s IP2K winner Devlin Defrancesco racing in Indy Lights this year. Kyle Kirkwood has been dominant this year, but his last race on the oval came in 2019, when he won in IP2K. With the Road to Indy points system placing an emphasis on ovals, this is an important weekend for drivers wishing to secure the championship and the scholarship for IndyCar that goes with it. Indy Pro races Saturday afternoon at 3:45pm ET, streaming on the Road to Indy website. Indy Lights will be racing at 6:30pm ET both Friday and Saturday, with both races streaming exclusively on Peacock.
F4 Japan goes to Suzuka this weekend, directly after the Japanese Grand Prix was cancelled due to Covid. Two races are scheduled, with Race 1 taking place at 12:25am ET Saturday morning, and Race 2 at 7:45pm ET Saturday night. Races are streamed on YouTube(Please note: Stream is entirely in Japanese, English stream is not available.)
