NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY
8/08/20 – All good things come to those who wait and Frank Cozze has been waiting 10 years. After returning to NES this season; Frank Cozze has orchestrated his first win in 10 years at NES and first win of the 2020 season.
Steve Davis and Kory Fleming led the field to green and Fleming led the first 5 laps. Frank Cozze took the lead on lap 6 and held off a variety of second place challengers, Korey Fleming, PJ Oliver, Dakota Kessler and David Van Horn. But in the end it was Cozze holding off a closing Van Horn by nearly a 1 second margin for his first win at New Egypt in 10 years.
The top five was rounded out by David Van Horn, Billy Pauch Jr., Dakota Kessler and PJ Oliver.
Both Dakota Kessler and PJ Oliver got their second top 5 finish of the season which started on July 4th. Oliver has strung together back to back top 5 finishes with a 3rd and 5th place finish.
Jimmy Horton and Craig Mitchell ventured into the New Jersey Pine Barrens from New York as their usual Saturday track OCFG was closed this week. Both Horton and Mitchell had better days. Horton got into a tangle and had contact damage on lap 1 and finished 18th while Mitchell finished 21st.
Brandon Grosso had another rough outing as he pulled off on lap 22 with mechanical issues after flipping on the back stretch last week.
26 cars were on the premises with all 26 taking the green for the feature.
Frank Cozzo’s win is the 5th different winner in 5 races at New Egypt.

DELAWARE INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY
8/08/20 – The first annual Jake Marine Memorial with a modified purse of $2,685 to honor Jake’s long history of racing in Delmarva peninsula under the number “85”. Most fittingly Jake Marine’s former driver HJ Bunting redrew the pole and would lead the field to green for the Jake Marine Memorial.
HJ Bunting for the second week in a row led the feature from the pole until about lap 13 when visiting Ryan Godown took the lead in the Jamie Mills Blue Hen Disposal # 30. Godown took command and cruised into victory lane. Rich Laubach took 2nd place from his 8th place starting position.
The top 5 was rounded out with Rich Laubach, HJ Bunting, Jordan Watson and Howard O’Neal.
19 modifieds were on the grounds with 18 taking the green for the feature.
Visiting teams paying respect to Jake Marine were Rick Laubach and Richie Pratt. Ryan Godown was present and drove the Jamie Mills #30 to victory lane.
Godown, Laubach and Pratt Jr were looking for an edge to take into the Short Track Super Series event at DIS on 8/11/20.

GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY
8/08/20 – The 28 car field was led to green by Darrin Schuler who was able to hold the lead until lap 8 when Duane Howard powered by on the high side to take command of the lead. A series of 8 cautions kept bringing Howard back to the field for restarts. But each time Howard eventually separated from 2nd place Doug Manmiller and 3rd place Craig Von Dohren and broke away and took his first checkered flag of the 2020 season by nearly a 3 second margin of victory.
The top five was rounded out by Duane Howard, Doug Manmiller, Briggs Danner and Ryan Grim.
36 modifieds were on the grounds competing for 28 starting spots on the grid for the 30 lap feature event.
