Williams Grove Speedway opens 2026 season Sunday with Macri chasing third straight opener win

Another season of sprint car racing at Williams Grove Speedway begins Sunday afternoon, when the track opens its 2026 schedule with a Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprint car program at 2 p.m.

Opening Day 2026, presented by Hoosier, will feature the PA Posse 410 Sprint Series and a 25-lap main event paying $6,000 to the winner. The season opener will be a 410 sprint car-only show, with no time trials scheduled.

Much of the early attention will center on Dillsburg’s Anthony Macri, who returns as the defending Opening Day winner. Macri has won the last two season openers at Williams Grove and comes into Sunday’s event with momentum already on his side after beating the World of Outlaws twice in Florida earlier this season and adding another recent victory in Central Pennsylvania.

That makes Macri one of the clear names to watch as Williams Grove launches another year of weekly competition.

The opener also starts a busy early stretch for the speedway. Williams Grove returns Friday, March 27, for its first night race of the season, which will also mark the 2026 debut of the HJ Towing & Recovery 358 sprint cars. The track’s April schedule begins April 3 with another card featuring both 410 and 358 sprint car racing.

General admission for Sunday’s opener is $25 for adults and $10 for fans ages 13-20. Children 12 and under will be admitted free.

Gates are scheduled to open at noon.
