Travis Hill scored his first win of the 2025 season holding off a talented top five that’s going to be seeing a lot of each other this season – Joe Toth in second followed by Jax Yohn, Steve Kemery and Luke Bunting in 5th.

Travis reflected “We rolled out of the trailer very strong in warmups and set quick time. We made a couple minor adjustments before the heat race. I drew 59 which landed us starting last in the first heat race which wasn’t ideal, but I knew we had a good car. The car rolled right off the green and we went from 9th to the lead in a few laps. Had a few cautions but was still able to pull away from the field and get the heat race win in the heat race.”
“Things kept rolling in the redraw and drew the outside pole for the feature. We knew the car was good but did make some changes for the feature and kept a close eye on track conditions.”
“We rolled off the outside pole on the green and Jimmy Chester was able to beat me into turn one. I then crossed him up over and the yellow came out. The next start worked out better and I was able to rope around the outside of Chester taking the lead on lap 1 and never looking back. There were a few cautions, and I wasn’t sure whether to take the top or bottom on the restarts. Restarts are extremely important on this new track surface, and they can make or break you in an instance. So, on the next several restarts with Joe Toth next door I had to do everything I could to get the jump on Joe and beat him into turn one. When leading, it’s hard to tell where everyone else was running so I just kept doing what I have been doing on restarts and tried to hit my marks every lap.”

“I know we fell off a little bit at the end of the feature, but we now have some notes to take into next week and get better at the end of the feature. Despite some lapped traffic on the final lap, we were able to keep Toth behind us for the win and get a great start to the 2025 Bridgeport championship points chase.”
Travis has gotten off to a consistent start to his 2025 season with a 10th place finish at the Port Royal STSS opener and then a 6th place finish at the Bridgeport STSS race followed this week by win at Bridgeport’s points opener.
In 2023 Travis won the Bridgeport 602 Crate Points championship in Brett Cogdill’s 98 car. He missed a few races last year due to work commitments; but still finished 4th in the points standing at Bridgeport.

Travis stated “Howie & I talked over the winter about running together in 2025 and just seeing how the season unfolds. We are going to try to make all the STSS South region races and run Bridgeport week. Since putting this car together, we have been good every time out, starting with a qualifier win at last year’s Port Royal STSS race and another qualifier win this year’s Port Royal STSS race. In the feature this year we ran 2nd for first half of the race but after a restart the tires didn’t fire, and I fell back to a disappointing 10th place finish.”
“I would like to thank Iceless, Howie Finch and everyone that has made this opportunity to wheel one of the Iceless 4 team cars this season possible.”
Racing returns at Bridgeport Motorsports Park on April 4th & 5th with the Rush Direct Late Model Touring Series arriving for their $10,000 to win season opener event along with Sportsman, Wingless Sprints, Street Stocks and 4 cylinders on each night. 602 Sportsman will be racing for $1,500 to win.
