Bobby Trapper Jr Claims First Modified Win at Grandview

Bobby Trapper Jr posted his first career modified win at Grandview Speedway leading the 2 caution 12 minute feature for all laps except lap 25 which was led by Brian Hirthler but Bobby recovered the lead on lap 26 and held on to drive into victory lane for his career first modified win at Grandview Speedway.

Bobby Trapper took the early lead over Eric Biehn which he extended to over 3 seconds until the first caution flew on lap 11.  Ryan Watt moved into second on lap 13 and closed Trapper’s lead to just a half second until caution flew on lap 24 for a flat tire on Watt’s car that ended his night.  On the 2nd restart Brian Hirthler was able to take over the lead on lap 25 but only to have Trapper use the outside lane and take the lead back on lap 26 which he held to the checkered flag for his career first Grandview win.  Brian Hirthler finished 2nd and Eddie Strada finished on the podium in 3rd place.

 Heat race winners for the 41 car modified field were Eric Biehn, Doug Manmiller, Louden Reimert & Chris Gambler.

Eric Kormann and Jimmy Leiby won the consolation races.

Next up on Saturday, June 22 will be a two-division program under the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series banner for the T.P. Trailer 358 Modifieds and T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman. The program will consist of qualifying races leading up to the 30-lap Modified and 25-lap Sportsman main events.  Pit gates open at 4:00 and Spectator gates at 5:00 with hot laps at 6:00 and racing at 7:30.
