On lap 12 Brian Hirthler passed Jordan Henn to take the lead, then endured 8 cautions, and held off Joe Toth in the final laps to take his first Freedom 38er win.
Jordan Henn led the field to green and quickly feel into a three-way battle with Joe Toth and Brian Hirthler for the lead. It was Brian Hirthler taking the lead on lap 12 from his 4th starting position. After the 4th restart on lap 13 Hirthler held off a strong & close high side challenge from Henn, but he was able to stop Henn’s momentum and maintain his lead through a series of 8 cautions. Brian used his sportsman motor and high line of the track to dominate the field and take his first Freedom 38er victory.
Heat races were won by Dylan Swinehart, Brad Grim, Brad Arnold, Zane Roth, Dakota Kohler, and Logan Bauman.
Consolation races were won by Kyle Smith, Jesse Hirthler and Decker Swinehart.
A record 61 entries attempted to qualify for one of the 28 starting positions for the 2023 Freedom 38er.

On Saturday, September 16, the Freedom 76-lap championship will be run for the 358 Modifieds. The program will include qualifying heats, consolation races, Low Down and Dirty cash dash, along with the Schaeffer Racing Minuteman 20 leading to the 76-lap championship feature.
Pit gates open at 9 am for inspections, fans will be able to enter the Grandstand areas between 9 AM and 12 Noon to reserve seats with blankets, grandstand ticket windows open at 3 pm. pill draw for position is at 4:30 pm. with the drivers meeting at 5 pm. warm-ups are at 6 pm. with racing starting at 7 pm.
