Rossi Breaks 3 Year Winless Streak in Indy

Alexander Rossi took home the win Saturday in Indianpolis, breaking a winless streak that has been on since Road America in 2019. Rossi has picked up numerous podiums since then, but has never been able to climb to the top step. Rossi, who will leave for Arrow McLaren at the end of the year, was relatively emotional after the race, simply saying “It’s a relief, man.”

Rossi takes home his 8th IndyCar win, as Christian Lundgaard picked up his first podium, and the first of the season for RLL, followed by the new points leader Will Power. Power takes a 9 point lead over Marcus Ericsson, and 32 over Penske teammate Josef Newgarden. Ericsson recovered from P25 to finish 11th, one spot ahead of 3rd place starter Pato O’Ward, who spun on lap 1 after contact in Turn 1. The top 6 in points remain within 52 points of each other, the equivalent of a race worth of points. IndyCar heads to Nashville next week for the second running of the Music City GP.
