Craig Von Dohren Dominates to his 2nd Modified win of Season and Lex Shive Picks up First Sportsman Win of Season at Grandview   

Craig Von Dohren moved into the lead on lap 7 from his 12th starting position and cruised through lapped traffic to a 2 second margin of victory over Jeff Strunk for his 2nd win in 3 races this season.

Darrin Schuler led the field to green, but it was short lived as 3 cautions flew before the first lap was in the books and Schuler suffered a flat tire sending him to the back.  Joe Funk emerged from all the lap 1 yellows as the leader until Craig Von Dohren used a novel three for one pass to take the lead from 4th place on lap 7.  The final 23 laps of the 30-lap feature were all Von Dohren with Jeff Strunk a distance 2nd place.

The top ten was rounded out with Jeff Strunk in 2nd followed by Tim Buckwalter, Doug Manmiller, Brett Kressley, Jesse Leiby, Duane Howard, Brad Brightbill, Mike Lisowski and Mike Laise in 10th place. 

Heat winners for the 37 car field were Tim Buckwalter, Mark Kratz, Joe Funk and John Willman.  Jared Umbenhauer and Mike Lisowski won the last chance consolations.

Lex Shive took the lead on lap 6 after the 2nd restart of the feature and proceeded to pull away from Anthony Raisner with a 3 second margin of victory at the checkered flag for his first win of the season and 2nd career victory at Grandview Speedway.

Hunter Iatalese and Anthony Raisner led the field to green with Raisner leading until a big scramble of cars going everywhere on the back stretch ended up with Joey Vacarro deep into the infield and drew the second caution.  On the restart it was Lex Shive bolting into the lead and driving away from the field for an impressive win.  Anthony Raisner posted a career best 2nd place finish with Kenny Gilmore closing in 3rd from his 16th starting position.

The 37 car field saw heats won by Hunter Iatalese, Wayne Rotenberger, Lex Shive, and Mike Stofflet.  The last chance consolations were won by Dylan Hoch and Kyle Smith.

The Memorial Day holiday weekend will include a special Thunder on the Hill racing program on Sunday, May 29 starting at 7:30 pm. The racing event will be the first of two PA Tri-Track series events to be held at Grandview this season. The 358 Modifieds will be competing in a new event called the Balls to the Wall 50, and the All-Pro SpeedSTR’s are also on the card.

On Sunday, May 29, pit gates open at 2:30 pm, grandstand gates open at 5 pm. with racing at 7:30 pm. Grandstand admission will be $30 for adults, children ages 6-11 are $10, while kids ages 5 and under are admitted free. Pit admission will be $40, and no license is required.
