Abbottstown,PA- It was announced back in October that Salfordville’s Freddie Rahmer jr. would be leaving his family owned #51 team to be the hired gun for long time Central PA competitor Rich Eichleberger and his #8 car. It only took two races for the pair to find victory lane as Rahmer won his 17th career feature event at the Lincoln Speedway and his first Ice Breaker win.
Rahmer, who started 3rd, would take the lead from outside pole sitter Aaron Bollinger on lap 11 after finding the highside when most drivers were searching the bottom for grip. “After a couple of laps it’s hard to beat momentum.” Said Rahmer “ Early in the race I stuck down to the bottom but didn’t want to get stuck down there. So I moved up to the top and focused on running the best laps I could.”
The only challenge for Rahmer in the closing laps was the #19 of Brent Marks from Myerstown,PA . Marks, who started 8th, tried to pull a slider on the restart but Rahmer was too good on the highside and was able to pull away from Marks off of turn two.

“We had a really good car, but just didn’t have enough stick on entry.” Marks said. “ Any time I would get close to him I had to try to throw something at him and hope he (Rahmer) would make a mistake. They had a heck of a car and it would have been nice to get some lap traffic at the end because we seemed to be better than Freddie was in lap traffic. That’s not how the race played out. But I can’t complain about 2nd place from 8th .”
Best battle on the track was between Anthony Macri and Danny Dietrich as the duo traded haymakers with two laps to go as Dietrich pulled the trigger on a slider on Macri and just caught the front end of Macri. Macri would continue and would get Dietrich after taking the white in turns 1 &2 to take home the final step on the podium.
Devon Borden was credited with the hard charger coming from 24th to 11th.
