Josh Berry edges Allgaier for the win at Vegas

The NASCAR Xfinity Series begins the playoffs with the Round of 12 at Las Vegas for the Alsco 300. Matt Jaskol, who will drive the No. 66 in the race, performed a skydive into the track prior to driver introductions.

Austin Cindric led the first 25 laps leading to the competition caution with Allmendinger second, as both so far have the best cars. There were reports of Justin Allgaier leaking fluids from his car, as his crew had to look at his car under caution. On the restart, there was a huge pileup in turn one that collected playoff contenders such as Riley Herbst, Jeb Burton, and Jeremy Clements. Alex Labbe and J.J. Yeley were a couple of others involved. The race restarted with five laps left in Stage One as Allmendinger took the lead. Allmendinger would take the stage win, holding off a charging Daniel Hemric.

Ty Dillon had the lead on the restart as Daniel Hemric began chasing him down. The caution came out with a spin from Ryan Sieg on lap 54. The race restarted on lap 60 with Ty Dillon sill leading, driving for Jordan Anderson. Justin Allgaier would get around Dillon by lap 66. Allgaier would then go on to win Stage Two.

The caution came out when Justin Haley spun, but he stayed in contention. Allgaier led the way until lap 160 when Josh Berry took the lead, driving the #1 for Michael Annett again this week. Green flag pit stops began with about 25 laps to go as leader Josh Berry went to pit with 20 laps to go. Allgaier was able to pass Berry with 19 to go while a couple of others had not pit yet. Berry was able to get by Allgaier with 16 laps to go, looking for his second career Xfinity win. Josh Berry, subbing for Michael Annett, goes on to get his second career Xfinity Series win at Las Vegas, also giving Jr Motorsports a 1-2-3 finish.
