Grandview Speedway won the race against the weather; while Jared Umbenhauer won the modified feature and Brian Hirthler won the Sportsman feature and the entire day’s racing event was completed before the rainy weather arrived at the speedway.
The 30 lap modified feature was run in 12 minutes with only 2 cautions and saw Kevin Graver in the 7A entry lead the first 19 laps until Jared Umbenhauer took over the lead on lap 20. Craig Von Dohren was closing in from 2nd but Umbenhauer held Von Dohren off to take the checkered flag and his first Grandview win since August of 2018.
The Modified top ten was rounded out by Craig Von Dohren in 2nd followed by Louden Reimert, Duane Howard, Kevin Graver, Craig Whitmoyer, Kevin Hirthler, Brett Kressley, Dylan Swinehart and Jeff Srunk in 10th.
In the sportsman 25 lap feature it was Jesse Landis holding the early lead through five cautions only to see Brian Hirthler move to the high side and motor into the lead on lap 12 and then to checkout right into victory lane with a 2 second margin of victory for his second Sportsman win of the season.
The Sportsman top ten was rounded out by Kyle Smith in second followed by Jesse Landis, Kyle Lillick, Lex Shive, Ryan Beltz, Kenny Gilmore, Jimmy Leiby, Brandon Edgar and Tyler James in 10th.
Grandview’s next event is on Saturday May 1st with the modifieds and sportsman in a two division show with racing starting at 7:30.
