EXCLUSIVE: T-Mez to Hogue Racing For Keystone Invasion

For the first time since June of 2018, fan favorite “T-Mez” Thomas Messeraull of San Jose, California will return east to Pennsylvania and compete with the best of the best in wingless sprint car racing. Meseraull plans to enter the USAC Amsoil National Sprint Cars Series “Keystone Invasion” events running April 22nd thru 25th in the Fran & Tim Hogue Motorsports #39.

Messeraull looks to return in the same triumphant way he departed, in victory lane. The Californian picked up the final night of the 2018 Eastern Storm at the Weedsport Speedway in New York. During the last trip east, Messeraull had three top-ten finishes.

“My brother and I are very excited to work with T-Mez” car owner Tim Houge said. “When the opportunity arose to have in T-Mez we had to jump on it. Thomas brings in his own setups and really gives us something we’ve lacked on the car which was a true crew chief. We feel that a caliber of a driver that Thomas is, and how much our equipment has improved since we started, gives us the best opportunity to get a win against the best drivers in the country that will be in for the Eastern Storm.” Houge offered.

This isn’t the first fan favorite that Hogue has had in the #39 car. California driver Richard Vander Weerd drove in 2015. Jerry Coons Jr. followed for three years (2016-18), and most recently “The Peoples Champ” Dave Darland was the pilot during the 2019 Eastern Storm. The Hogue Racing 39 has also done some wing racing in the last few years with Modified hot shoe Ryan Watt making his winged 410 debut in 2020 along with a few 360 starts with URC. Watt also picked up a USAC East Coast Series win in his first drive in a wingless 360 Sprint Car at Georgetown in 2020. Most recently, Josh Weller ran the winged 39 for the URC 360 sprint car season opener at Bridgeport.
