Danny Snyder’s 2021 racing campaign has already begun with a 10 race trip to Florida with his 4S super late model during Speed Week with much more racing in 2021 to come for his super late 4S entry.  Danny recently acquired a totter home trailer with room for two cars which fits the 2021 plan of running both his 4S super late model and the KAM Fueled Racing 44 limited late model on the same day as often as possible during the 2021 season.

Danny isn’t the only one doing double duty during 2021; KAM Racing has also doubled their racing operations with the addition of the 291 modified with Kyle Merkel at the helm.

For the first time since 2017 KAM fueled racing will be in competition in both modified and limited late model division. Kyle Merkel at the wheel of the # 291 modified and Danny Snyder entering his 4th year driving the 44 limited late model.  KAM Fueled Racing started in 2015 with father and son ownership of Steve & Alex Bartorillo.  Alex “The King” Bartorillo has been active as a car owner and team manager since the age of 7 and may be the youngest owner in the sport.  KAM Fueled Racing is truly a family activity as represented in the name which came from the names of all three Bartorillo siblings Kylie, Alex and Matthew for KAM.   The team has also has a history of success along the way winning several big race wins including Grandview’s 38er and the 2018 Grandview Points Championship with Danny Snyder in the 44 Limited Late Model.

“Danny recalled “I started racing at 7 years old in ¼ midgets and moved right into late model racing at Penn Can in 2003.  In 2009 I moved to Dad’s home track of Grandview and took over driving the family owned limited late model.  I was able to get 5 wins at Penn Can and 10 wins and finish 2nd in the points chase one year at Grandview up to 2014.  In 2014 we started racing the super late model at tracks across central PA and Western Maryland and we picked up 4 wins.  Then in 2018 I was able to back to Grandview weekly driving for Alex and Steve Bartorillo in the KAM Fueled Racing #44 limited late model.  We got an opening night win and then two additional wins during the season and we won the Grandview 2018 limited late model championship. So it turned out to be a real good move to come back to Grandview for the 2018 season.”  Unfortunately, Danny couldn’t defend his limited late championship due to the class being disbanded by Grandview for the 2019 season which led Danny to move back to an outlaw schedule running both the Snyder family #4S super late model and KAM Fueled Racing #44 limited late model throughout central PA as often as the schedules had both classes on the same day.

Danny commented “we ran an outlaw schedule in 2020 and probably made it to Selinsgrove more than any other track.  We ran the super late most nights and the limited late model as often as we could.  We learned an awful lot about running two cars in different classes on the same night and we definitely use that knowledge during the 2021 season.

Danny noted “Our 2021 season started with the purchase of a totter trailer with room for both cars. It is the beginning of our plan to do double duty with both the super late and limited late on as many race dates as possible.  We have already learned that running two cars requires a forward thinking mentality from the moment you unload the cars and a lot of planning and preparation to be able to make adjustments from car to car as information becomes available throughout the night.”

The totter trailer got a trial run with a trip to Florida for speed week for the Lucas Oil Late Models and is ready to go for an aggressive 2021 season of traveling for the 44 and 4S.  The super late model was able to compete in 10 races in 2 weeks on the Florida trip with 80 of the best super late models in the country.  Danny stated “We already got more laps on our Speed Week Florida trip than we did all of last season.  We are not there with our setup yet but this trip to Florida was a big step forward for us. We were able to try a lot of different setups and got a lot of great information from competitors from all over the country.”

“Our plans for 2021 are to try some weekly races at Port Royal with both cars and hit as many Lucas Oil and World of Outlaws events as possible as well as any of the better paying races in either class. I’m really looking forward to getting to Big Diamond with the Limited Late Model.  We are also looking for sponsors for the 2021 season. I got some people I need to thank cause I can’t do this without them.  First I’d like to thank Alex, Steve Bartorillo and Don Ervin for the opportunity to drive the KAM Fueled racing #44 limited late model for a 4th year in a row.  A special thanks to my crew Frank & Duane; Amanda my wife; mom and dad & Sally – I can’t thank you enough for all that you do” Danny noted.

No doubt the planning and preparation for a full season of double duty racing has been diligent and deliberate with the addition of the two car trailer; extensive winter track time and lessons learned on managing double duty driver and crew aspects of competing with two cars in one night.  Now all that’s left is execution of a well made plan; some good weather and a bit of racing luck and the 4S super late and 44 limited late will be on their way to their best season ever.
