Warm and Unseasonable conditions greeted 602 Crate competitors for the first annual Precision Hydraulic Oil Invitational. 22 Crate drivers from the tristate area and NY were in attendance and looking for the lucrative $3,000 check in victory lane.
An intense battle started in the 6 lap cash dash with Steve Davis and Steve Kemery wheel to wheel for the entire 6 laps with Davis eking out the pool position with a .037 margin of victory.
The field was lead to green by Steve Davis and Bridgeport Track Champion Steve Kemery with Davis taking the lead for the first 15 laps. Kemery made his pass for the lead on lap 15 and was able to gain separation from Davis through lapped traffic. On lap 28 the only caution of the event came out and bunched the field back up for a double file restart and 2 lap shootout. On the final lap Kemery came into the final turn with a slight advantage and heavy contact between Davis and Kemery in the center of turn 3 and 4 had them side by side with Peyton Talbot making an inside move and a bid for the win but it was Steve Davis taking the win by a razor close .029 margin.
